Marla Kasper, EMSL,

Marla has been a pediatric Registered Nurse for over 15 years, working in various clinical settings.  She has always had a passion for alternative and complimentary approaches to medicine.  As a Peace Corps Volunteer in Malawi, Africa (2009-2011), Marla adopted a daily yoga practice.  In 2016, she  completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training from Wilmington Yoga Center  and is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance. In 2017, Marla started her Yoga for the Special Child Training, recently completing additional 95 hours of training, becoming a Registered Child Yoga Teacher (RCYT). Marla recently graduated with an Executive Masters in Sustainability Leadership in December 2022.

Over the years, Marla has worked with many families and children with special needs, especially those affected by spinal muscular atrophy (SMA).  She is always amazed by the selfless parents and caretakers, because it really does "take a village" to raise any child.  Therefore, her mission is two-fold:

  • To serve children and individuals with special needs (whether visible or "invisible") and their families and caretakers, by introducing adjunct natural therapies of yoga and essential oils.
  • To create a community network of families to be strong and healthy naturally, Rooted Together! (Just like sequoia trees in the Redwood Forest.)
